After having some doubters when winning the Calaway Gal Stakes a fortnight ago Missy Longstocking surely silenced these doubters on Saturday when extending her unbeaten record to four consecutive wins when taking out the Group 3 B J MCLACHLAN STAKES.

After performing well at his first two starts at Ipswich and Doomben over 1200m on good and dead rated surfaces Hard Ticker, a nice placid three year old son of Hard Spun was having his first start on his home track at Eagle Farm. The early morning rain ensured the track would be rated at least slow for the Boxing Day races.

On Wednesday at Eagle Farm the Glenlogan Park Stud owned three year old Black Jet was able to win when having only his second race start.

On Friday at Ipswich Haitchque scored an impressive 2.3 length win in the 1350m Class 2 beating the impressive 11.5 length last start Fillies and Mares maiden winner Baroness Zeena. After travelling well throughout the race Haitchque was relatively untroubled in recording his second win from only three starts.

In the PC Graphic Art Handicap for two year olds at Eagle Farm we saw the improving Sequalo filly Missy Longstockings record a seven length win. However more impressive was the time 57.18 seconds for the 1000m. This is a new class record which was previously held by Military Rose who then went on to win the Magic Millions.

The impressive 5 year old bay son of Savabeel was well in the market in what looked to be a strong class 3. Although Hampden possibly wasn’t entirely suited by the 1000m he still managed to win narrowly in a tight finish after wanting to lay in up the straight. Larry Cassidy did a great job in getting him home and unfortunately also incurred a suspension for the ride.

The three year old Strada filly Malala was able to open her winning account in a 1200 metre maiden at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

After being unlucky the previous week Cum Dividend was able to make amends when backing up and winning the Benchmark 85 over 1200 metres on a slow 7 rated surface.

The win of Sarge in Charge in the Class 3 Plate over 1030m at Doomben was a well-deserved win for this six year old son of Golan which took weeks of planning.

Missy Longstocking started at very short odds on the strength of her impressive last start win over the same course and distance prior to having a brief let up in preparation for her Magic Millions campaign. Punters sent Missy Longstocking out at around $1.30 in the 1000 meter Listed Calaway Gal Stakes on Saturday where she was able to keep her unbeaten record intact while adding some valuable Black Type to her pedigree.

On Sunday at the Sunshine Coast Gorgonzola was well ridden by apprentice Aidan Holt to record her second career win from ten starts when taking out the 1400m Schultz Toomey O'Brien Class 1.


The very consistent and fit five year old Exceed and Excel mare Liesele continues her good form this preparation with a strong win at Doomben on Saturday in the Class 6 1110m Plate.

Sweet Little Filly made a welcome return to the winners list at Ipswich recently when she came from a long way back in the field to score an impressive win. It was great to see her get another victory and hopefully many more in the near future.

What a fantastic performance by Cavalryman winning at Eagle Farm on Wednesday the 1st of February. This was his 1st start for our stable and we were absolutely thrilled that we could get him to win 1st up for his connections.

Congratulations to the connections of Snipzu on winning the QTIS plate at the Sunshine Coast on the 5th of Feb. This filly has always shown above average ability so it was a nice to come out on top again and we are looking forward to her next win.

Congratulations to the connections of Gesticulation on him winning his Maiden at Ipswich on Friday the 10th of February. He had been placed twice from his previous 3 starts so it was very pleasing to see him finally break through.

Promising two-year-old filly Snipzu flew home for a win in the $150,000 LJ Hooker Caloundra QTIS 600 Two-Year-Old Plate 1200m at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, February 5.

Since trading as L B Racing P/L the stable has been enjoying a good run of consistant winners now having produced 6 wins up until the 21st of January.
