The win by Sista Act in the newly introduced 1200m 3yo QTIS Jewel race at the Gold Coast was a great result but a little unexpected after she was defeated at Warwick over 1100 metres at her previous start.

Surprisingly after her defeat at Warwick when fixed odds markets opened on Thursday Sista Act was put up at $6.50 in the QTIS Jewel even though she had failed to finish in the top three at her two prior attempts at 1200m.

Sista Act was able to find the lead for jockey Jim Byrne who drove Sista Act hard in the early stages to assume the leading role.

Passing the 600 Byrne looked to have Sista Act travelling well in front with those behind starting to make their moves.

Passing the 300 metre mark Sista Act led by a length from the tough Paradise Imperial and stretched this out to two lengths on the line with Skate to Paris getting up for second with Paradise Imperial third.

First prizemoney of $76,250 takes Sista Acts overall prizemoney to $231,900 which is a nice return on a $40,000 purchase from the 2016 Gold Coast March sale.

Congratulations to Syndicator Drew Irwin and his happy group of owners Mr D C Irwin, Mr J Irwin, Mr P Munro, Mr J Howson, Mr T Howson, Mr K R Hill, Mr B Gordon, Mr L Fish, Mr T Newton & Mr W C Clark.

This lightly raced Falvelon filly is proving to be very consistent having finished in the top three placing at eight of her thirteen race track appearances.  She also shows a liking for the good rated track surfaces as she has won four from seven.

On this occasion, Sista Act was strapped by Jan Aitkenhead.
